Finally an update!!

It's only been 4 months since I last updated our blog, which usually isn't that big of a deal, unless you are us...with all that goes on in our lives, 4 months can be an eternity. To catch up...after our trip to Florida, we moved out of our house and into the main level of the parents. In an attempt to differentiate us from the parents, we are known as the "young cards" and they are the "old cards". Mom and Dad don't like that title, for some reason. Transitioning to the new area, and church has been a bit hard for the older boys, especially Drew. He had become quite attached to his friends in Eagle Mountain. We are working with him to like it though.

In April, I changed jobs, still with the Army, but at a different location. I went back to Dugway. I'm no longer on the SRT (SWAT). I am strictly patrol now for Dugway Police. My last base, DCD, will be shutting down in a couple years, and in an effort to beat the rush for jobs, when it closes, I left, and went back to Dugway (for those that don't know, I worked there for two years, starting back in '05) As a condition of the job change, they wanted me to go to 2 months of training. Which is actually where I am still at right now. I was sent in June to Fort Lost in the Woods, Misery. For those affiliated with the Army you should know where that is. For those that don't it's Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. It is located in the middle of Missouri in the forest. I was out here for SRT school and Jason was here for Basic training.

I have less than 2 weeks left before I get to go home. I was able to go home for 3 days over the July 4th weekend, and Jen and Kade came out the week before that, to go up to Nauvoo. He was a little hesitant, not seeing me for 3 weeks. When I get home it will be over a month since he's seen me last, we'll see how that goes. I miss sleeping in my super deluxe king size ginormous bed. The Army is known well for their extremely uncomfortable little half size beds that my 6'4" body doesn't fit. The first bed I had was unbalanced so that when I rolled over in the night, it would tip slightly to the side, and any sleeper would think they were falling off. I woke several times to a fright.
Jen flys out a week from Wednesday so that she can attend my Graduation, and we fly home on that Friday.
I will try to post some photos of our Nauvoo trip and my Graduation when I get back home.
